poker termsEvery field has its own terms and languages. All players should be familiar with the terminologies for the game which they are playing. Likewise poker game also has some common terminologies which the players should be familiar with.

Some common poker terms are discussed in this space. A “buy- in” refers to the sum of money that a poker player should have before sitting on a poker table. To get a clear idea: If the “buy-in” is 20$ then each poker player should pay this amount to the bank before the game starts. The next common term is used when the player gambles all his chips, it is called “All-in”. “Flop” in poker is the three cards which are distributed to the players. If a poker player bets before the “flop” then he is called as a “limp”. If a poker player reaches the highest bet then he is asked to make a “call”. Finally if a poker player accepts his defeat then he is called a “fold”.
