Clubs and tournaments

Backgammon is a very popular board game and efforts are being made to preserve it by forming clubs that have members who play this game. These clubs hold meetings at player’s houses, cafes, and local restaurants to play and converse with one another in an informal atmosphere. Some of the good clubs and unions have their own facilities and gaming parlors to cater to the needs of the players. These parlors also offer computer analysis on particular player’s games to help them know and understand their mistakes.
These clubs also hosts tournaments that draw competitors and spectators from all other regions, with the final matches being viewed by many people. Top players may be selected to play at international and national tournaments. These players receive prize money worth tens of thousands of dollars. In the year 2007 Party Gaming sponsored a tournament with prize money of a million dollars, now that’s really big.
