Should gambling be regulated or legalized?

Online gambling has been at the receiving end of a major crackdown in the US. However, given the popularity of this gambling alternative, it might be time to rethink and give online gambling the green signal. A better way of minimizing concerns about payment fraud is to incorporate regulatory mechanisms into place. The players commonly pay the online gaming website via credit cards and wire transfer, however, there are no guarantees of a payoff for winners or that the credit card information will not be misused.
However, the fact remains that online gaming websites continue to be hugely popular because of their convenience and variety on offer. Hence, it is beneficial to make it a legal avenue of the millions of players who are accessing these websites anyway. If legalized, the existing players can be made aware of fraudulent websites. With strict regulation in place these scams can be greatly reduced.
